Mirror Me

Growing up I was surprised people had the same perception of me. Understanding, out spoken, gorgeous, loving, caring, loyal, honest, creative, thoughtful, and a little on the wild side. Yes, I laughed about it the first time I heard these words out of my friends and families mouths but as I analyzed myself I started to see those characteristics in me. The more I grew up, the more words that came up in a question like , "Who is Jenice?"
The more I grew up the more I connected with friends that were just like me or had the same characteristics as me. Some of these people I've met at school, work, or just simply outside. Most of these characteristics should not be brought in a work place, but they are who I am. Being a professional in the work atmosphere you have to know when and where to turn of the unprofessional skills. The saying goes on to say, "There is always a place and time to do and say certain things".

As my skills begin to expand at Year Up, I begin to realize that I have a goal to reach as well as my fellow colleagues. I want to become a high school counselor and Administrator. Even in this position I do realize that there is a time and a place to be who you are in a more comfortable setting. I got a feel of what I wanted to be in high school as soon as I met my counselor. She was a perfect example of someone I wanted to be because she changed a lot of lives and poured a lot of encouragement in those she counseled and mentored.

I want to say she is a part of what motivates me to be someone like her but what really motivates me the most is God and my parents. With motivation comes a push that everyone needs to get through high and low times.
